FAQ

Where does Mubboo's education data come from?

K-12 school data comes from the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) Common Core of Data. College and university data comes from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard, which tracks outcomes like completion rates, post-graduation earnings, and tuition.

What is a college completion rate?

Completion rate (sometimes called graduation rate) is the percentage of first-time, full-time students who complete their program within 150% of the expected time — typically 6 years for a 4-year degree. Higher completion rates often correlate with strong student support services.

Does Mubboo rate or rank K-12 schools?

Currently we provide school directory information (type, grade levels, location) from NCES. We do not assign ratings to individual K-12 schools. For school quality ratings, we recommend checking your state's department of education report cards.

How often is education data updated?

NCES releases school directory updates annually, typically with a 1-2 year lag. College Scorecard data is updated annually by the Department of Education, usually in the fall.

Can I find schools near a specific ZIP code?

Yes — enter any ZIP code in the search box to see all schools and colleges in that area, along with key metrics like completion rates and earnings.

School data sourced from NCES Common Core of Data; college outcomes from the U.S. Department of Education's College Scorecard. Both datasets update annually. See our full methodology →
